Create Assignments

This article provides step-by-step instructions for Coaches on how to assign Career Climbs to climbers within the Hats & Ladders platform.

What You’ll Need:

  • An active Group with at least one active Climber to receive the assignment.


What are Career Climbs?

Career Climbs are multi-ladder sequences to support focused learning in a given career readiness topic. They are designed to take Climbers 15-30 minutes and include a combination of instructional and assessment activities.

Career Climbs can be assigned directly to participants for asynchronous learning or completed within a classroom session.

Assign Career Climbs from Groups

  • Log in to your Coach account.
  • Click "Groups" on side panel of your Dashboard.
  • Click into your desired Group.
  • Under the Assignments Tab, click "Create Assignment"
  • Select one or more Career Climbs.
  • Make sure the following align with your Climber's needs:
    • XP
    • Estimated Time
    • Number of Ladders
  • Click "Continue".
  • Set the Start and Due Dates.
  • Click "Continue".
  • Review the assignment details.
  • Click "Assign". Your climbers are now ready to begin their Career Climb!

Assigning Career Climbs from Library

  • Log in to your Coach account.
  • Click "Career Climbs" on side panel of your dashboard.

You can also click "Go to Career Climbs" in the Get Started section to access Career Climbs directly from your dashboard.

  • Browse through available Career Climbs.
  • You can filter by topic by clicking through the tabs at the top of the screen.
  • Review the Assignment Details.
  • Make sure the following align with your Climber's needs:
    • XP
    • Estimated Time
    • Number of Ladders
  • Click "Create Assignment".
  • Choose your Group or Groups.
  • Set the Start and Due Date.
  • Click "Continue".
  • Review the following:
    • Groups
    • Selected Career Climb(s) 
    • Start & End Dates
  • Click "Assign". Your Climbers are now ready to begin their Career Climb!
